I finished that Mom's Shit List and will be posting pics when I have it displayed. My current project is the Texas Rangers emblem I purchased from Stitched By Design on etsy. I have several of her sports logo patterns and have stitched the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays for the hubby. (I believe they've both had design changes since I finished those lol)<br />
<br />
Logan is still being home schooled and still hates doing the work lol. I've tried something new again this year and it seems to help....when he's in the mood to actually do the work. I've made a video of myself reading each of the stories for his monthly curriculum. When it's time to do the work I simply go to my youtube channel and pull up the stories. He loves to hear me read and watch the video of the pages turning (not to mention it helps when the curriculum website is slow due to high volume). Win win for me all around :D (except in the hour it takes to read all the stories, make the videos and post them for him, but he's well worth it)<br />
<br />
My eldest is a senior and will be graduating in a few short weeks. EEK! WHERE has the time gone??? She finally got herself a job....at my FAVORITE food establishment. Okay, I never eat anything there anymore I just go for the coffee :D DUNKIN DONUTS!!! We have three in our city and last year the oldest one was getting a new roof but as with older buildings wiring gets a little temperamental and it ended up catching on fire. It has been shut since then. They kept the signs up so we were thinking they'd eventually rebuild it. Thanks to the hurricane damage everywhere this past October they just got pushed a little further back. They will be open by the end of this month and when they do, that's where she's going. In the meantime, they have her training in the one just down the road from us so I make her walk after school when she's working. For the record, family members do NOT get any kind of discount. Employees can have ALLLLLL the coffee they want while on duty, as long as they bring their own cup. How fair is that???? I guess I'll be getting a job there someday when they open 24 hours....I'll take the night shift :D<br />
<br />
The other two are in 5th and 6th grade this year and can't stand to be around each other anymore. Sigh, I do hate when they grow up. I remember a time when those two were inseparable and if one got put into timeout the other would sit in there with them. Yeah, not so much anymore....looking forward to next school year when they'll be in different schools. Perhaps, THEN they will be nicer to each other. Miracles DO happen, I know they do and will pray for one. Teenagers......or the ones that THINK they already are have the worst attitudes. :(<br />
<br />
I hope everyone is getting lots of stitching done and are able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather we are having.....ok, the spring weather YOU are having. Last week it was 90 one day and 69 the next. I have a sneaking suspicion that Mother Nature has menopause. What do YOU think??Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-11003715269187735202017-03-08T09:34:00.000-05:002017-03-08T09:34:08.716-05:00A little something for you.....I saw something on facebook the other day that cracked me up. I just HAD to convert it to a cross stitch pattern for stitching. I'm in the middle of stitching it now and will be hanging it on my wall ASAP. :D<br />

If I'm entirely truthful, I'll be doing a happy dance as soon as the littler ones get on the bus in two weeks. lol I'm still homeschooling Logan and it's been an interesting undertaking to say the least. He WANTS to be home with me but he HATES to do school work so I've had to try different things this past year to get him to actually get it done. Believe it or not, what works one day won't always work the next day. :D<br />
<br />
My oldest will be a junior and will finally allowed to date after her 17th birthday. I'm already getting hives just thinking about it. lol She knows that her grades have to stay up and that she still has to get homework done first before being able to head out. I do believe that will help keep her grades up this year. Logan turned 13 last month so now there are two teenagers in the house. I've got a few more years before we add another teenager to the mix so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the semi craziness and pray. lol<br />
<br />
I've gotten some stitching done off and on through-out the summer. More off than on but still it's relaxing time that I cherish when I do finally get to do it. My current projects are Summer Alphabet by LizzieKate, April by The Prairie Schooler and March from the 2011 Keepsake Calendar. I "finished" two autism awareness pieces over the summer. Notice the quotes on finished; that just means it's stitched. Still trying to figure out what/how I want to actually finish them so I can display them. One is a heart and the other is the supermom emblem. I've got to get a picture or two of them and post them. (Still haven't pulled the summer fun pics off the camera from a month ago lol)<br />
<br />
The end of 2014 wasn't a good time for our family. We lost my mom's brother at the end of September and six weeks later my mom passed away unexpectedly. Less than a month later my husband lost his job. I've decided that I need to find a bright spot out of all that. There were two good things. One, I was able to spend time with my uncle's family before he passed away. My mom and my brothers were there as well. The second was that I was able to spend some much needed quality time with my husband. He needed a break and we needed to be able to reconnect as a family. Although it has been hard, I'm glad that he's no longer under the horrible stress. We were able to use our savings and tax return to make it through until a temporary job became available. He's now waiting to hear if it will become permanent. We should hear sometime this week. Thankfully, he's got other job interviews so we have some other options should that fall through. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for us!!<br />
<br />
I hope that everyone has been able to enjoy their summer and have been able to stitch more than me. lol Happy "Almost" Fall!<br />
<br />

I have been stitching but not nearly as much as I'd like to have done. I have figured out that my favorite time of year to sit and stitch is Autumn. Something about the cooler weather (or the thought of it as we still have summer temps long into winter) makes me want to sit and stitch all sorts of halloween and christmas projects.<br />
<br />
I'm currently working on something for my youngest, Ryan. He requested a small that will really work for a bookmark. Since he's really gotten into reading in the past year, I've stitched him two other bookmarks, all lost on the school bus. lol This one is for one of his favorite book series, Warriors. It shouldn't take that long to stitch but I've yet to sit to finish it. <br />
<br />
Still homeschooling Logan and it's had it's up and downs. This year has started out strong, but it's only the third week so I'm sure it will level back out. lol He's now having ABA therapy to help with his behavior issues and I'm really looking forward to them getting him on a set schedule so we can kick some of these really bad behaviors to the curb.<br />
<br />
He still has issues with sleeping, or staying asleep once he goes down for the night. We're attempting some slow release melatonin but so far, nada. This week has been the pits with two days of two hours of sleep is catching up with me. That might be why I've not sat down to stitch, I'm afraid I'll mess it up.<br />
<br />
I hope to be back soon with a stitchy update. <br />
<br />Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-355813163008592252012-09-29T09:30:00.003-04:002012-09-29T09:31:42.492-04:00Happy Fall!Good Saturday morning everyone! I hope everyone has had a nice relaxing week of work and are ready to have a great weekend.<br />
<br />
The kids have had Thursday and Friday off of school so it's thrown Logan's schedule off just a wee bit. Truly it doesn't matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. He lets me know when he's ready to get work done so it's all good. It didn't help that we left his DVD player plugged in Thursday night and first thing yesterday he was watching a movie. You can't get him to do much when he has the chance to control the DVD/TV. lol I remembered to unplug it last night so we should be starting some school work momentarily, which is why I'm taking these few minutes to write something.<br />
<br />
I've spent the past week doing the normal cleaning, laundry, schooling and added getting his school work ready for October. I'm still working on the laminating and cutting and hopefully will be done by this afternoon. I've also been making myself spend about 45 minutes each morning stitching whatever I happen to pick up. Currently, I'm busy stitching the kids a halloween ornament. Since I let them each pick out one that they wanted me to make for them last year I thought we'd make it a yearly tradition. By the time they move out they will have enough ornaments for a small halloween tree for their own appartment/house. <br />
<br />
I finished my LHN Little House Neighborhood and I had to laugh at myself. I don't know what I was doing or thinking when I started it over a year ago but it's clear I wasn't thinking straight. I had to skip doing the border and the bottom part as I had a brain fart and didn't calculate the amount of fabric needed. I realized what I had done by the time I was finished with the first house but since I had spent so much time stitching it I went ahead and finished. It still looks good but I may end up stitching it again in a couple of years but this time, I will be sure to calculate the fabric better. LOL<br />
<br />
I have about a half hour, if I'm lucky, before Logan will want to start working so I think I will put some more stitches in his ornament. I will try to get some pictures of the ornaments I have finished so far and one of the LHN piece for the next post. Until then, have a wonderful fall weekend no matter where you are located. Our fall weather won't hit for another month or two. We had temps in the upper 80's, low 90's yesterday so if you are feeling nice, please send some crisp air our way. lol<br />
<br />
Have a great weekend!Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-65155937600538887912012-09-14T09:24:00.004-04:002012-09-14T09:24:34.979-04:00Long time, no see!Hello there everyone! <br />
<br />
Lots has been going on in our house in the last couple of months and I can't believe that I haven't updated this blog in forever and a day!<br />
<br />
First, and the biggest distraction is that I'm now homeschooling my oldest son Logan. A little background for you. Last year in the middle of the year, they changed his teacher and classroom. Major behavior issues came about and six months later we were still trying to get him calm. Summer school helped get his behaviors down to a dull roar but that's only because he didn't learn anything other than how to calm down. Skip to this school year, they started him in his original classroom from last year with the teacher we absolutely love and he does too. She's the only one, along with her paraprofessional who can handle him. Almost two weeks into the year, the new principal sends a letter home stating that Logan would be moved to a new classroom to accomodate the inceasing class sizes.<br />
<br />
I tried to explain to the new principal about the behavior issues from last year but it fell on deaf ears. It's kind of funny but the first week of school I had told my hubby that if they even thought about moving Logan this year that I wasn't going to even mess with it, I was just going to homeschool him. I never in my wildest imagination thought it would happen and happen so quickly. Since the new principal didn't even want to hear why the move would be very bad for Logan and anyone else in his class, I told him that evening that I would be homeschooling him from that point forward.<br />
<br />
I had to uproot my two youngest since that school is not our zoned school. This year they have a school uniform. Thankfully, it's not as cut and dried as a private school. The school disctrict has three colors and each individual school has two additional colors for students/parents to choose what they want for the shirts. Of course, I had gone the easy route, or so I thought at the time by just getting the school approved color. Once the change took place, I had to scramble to find the county wide colors since the new school colors couldn't be found anywhere two weeks into the school year. I actually had to order from Walmart online as no one in our area had any of the colors left! Oy!<br />
<br />
The really good thing to come out of all this upheaval is that Logan ABSOLUTELY loves being home with me!!! For the most part, he loves doing his work and it takes us less than half the time it does in a regular classroom to get it all done. Obviously it's because there are no outside distractions for him and he's learning one-on-one with me. The other kids love riding the bus and getting to know everyone that lives on the other end of our street that we never got to meet before because of the different schools.<br />
<br />
I, on the other hand, have no free time anymore but I do steal ten minutes here and there and put a few stitches in my projects when I can. Once our schedule gets on a more even keel, I'm sure I'll get back to more stitching and maybe even blogging again!<br />
<br />
I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and are enjoying the beginning of the beautiful fall weather. I will be back when I can and I hope to be able to at least read a blog or two when I have my morning coffee. :)<br />
<br />
I hope you are all enjoying your stitching and I look forward to seeing lots of progress pics of it all.<br />
<br />
I'd better get to it, the boy is chomping at the bit to start his work. I'm loving this!!!Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-61773957025231309492012-06-28T09:33:00.000-04:002012-06-28T09:37:12.094-04:00Tag!<div>

Here is the April ORT Report. I really did do some stitching....several smalls were completed but you sure can't tell by my ORT vase can you??!! Somehow my pencil ended up in there and I didn't catch it until I had already taken the picture twice. I think I'll leave it there so we can see if I add anything to the vase for the May report. lol</div>

I don't believe we've had any rain since March. It's going to be another lovely spring/summer with the fire index up in the danger zone again. What makes it even worse is all the pollen that just won't go away. Every time I think I've kicked the cold, my allergies come back and irritate the crap out of my lungs and it seems like I'm never going to get well. It would be tollerable if I could stand having my glasses on my face. lol At least then I could sit down to stitch for longer periods of time.<br />
<br />
I've been doing some stitching but nothing on my big projects. I decided to do some spring smalls and want to make them into ornaments for my season tree. I've got a few more to stitch, then finish them all and put them on my tree. My tree is actually a coffee cup tree that I no longer use since I got my single cup maker. I will post a picture when all is done. Hopefully by the May Ort Report.<br />
<br />
I've gotten a couple of awards that I will get posted, hopefully by the weekend. Right now I'm just trying to get through the week's laundry and cleaning. lol Hope everyone has a great week!Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-29175318043749086922012-03-23T11:32:00.000-04:002012-03-23T11:32:04.093-04:00TUSAL time again<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidvWSyc8Y6UGStJkAhgHkuxfwQkxG_X3QHJOJ-L1qQM7El1ZwQWjx5U_GiEJer7pmHb6ngASziprmbskqEvk3ehN-XHCo2hP5sLmz6sKiDgjIEiccxnPpCDUn6z-KG2iY3plVIEMT_xbA/s1600/CS_March_2012+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="218" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidvWSyc8Y6UGStJkAhgHkuxfwQkxG_X3QHJOJ-L1qQM7El1ZwQWjx5U_GiEJer7pmHb6ngASziprmbskqEvk3ehN-XHCo2hP5sLmz6sKiDgjIEiccxnPpCDUn6z-KG2iY3plVIEMT_xbA/s320/CS_March_2012+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Here is my March ORT report. I'll be honest, most of these are my daughter's bracelet castoffs. It seems that my orts don't always make it to the jar. I included the lovely picture of my oldest boy so you could see who steals most of my orts. lol He either throws them on the floor or will use them for dental floss. lol <br />
<br />
I did do a lot of stitching these past couple of weeks on both my Toy Box from HAED and on the Winter part of the Four Season Sampler from JCS. I'm really enjoying the HAED project and can't wait to get some stitching time in today. Think I will do that rather than do any cleaning. I can stitch and do laundry so that is my objective for the day. Get caught up on the laundry and get some much needed stitching time. It's the post right after A day for Yummies. (Me being me, did a double take on that title, thinking this is the post for me....I thought it said "A day for Dummies" No I had not ingested my first cup of coffee and yes I did indeed have my glasses on. <div align="center">Winter part of the Four Season Band Sampler from JCS.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I actually had some free time to stitch this weekend!! Of course, my ORTS keep disappearing and they never seem to make it into my vase. lol I started throwing them into my stitching bag and will dig them out before the next report is due. I did take some thread remnants from my daughter's room. She likes to make bracelets for her friends and she leaves the excess thread all over the house. lol</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's been a crazy CRAZY couple of weeks but I see light at the end of the tunnel. Logan has been having lots of behavior issues as of late. He had limited his rage outbursts to home and me but that has changed and he's now displaying this rage at school. It has gotten so bad that I've had to call the Agency for Person's with Disabilities for help. Thankfully they are really good and I am working with a behavior specialist to try to find out exactly what is setting him off. I've starting documenting every outburst and what is happening right before, the outburst itself and the consequence for his behavior. It's amazing to see how much and the times of day that the behavior happens. Hopefully by this time next week, we can narrow down the occurances to get a behavior plan in place. I have to say it's been a very exhausting couple of months but I finally feel like I'm getting some help and don't feel so totally helpless. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I know that I can't deal with it by myself all the time and need to take a break when I can. Thankfully, my hubby has been great about dealing with him when I've reached my limit. The two of us work really great together on everything. He even volunteered to go get the kids on Thursday so that I could have that hour of total relaxation and silence. I read for a little bit and then just sat enjoying the silence. I thought about doing some cleaning but then decided I needed some me time which is what he had in mind when he volunteered. lol</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's Monday, their was a sub in Logan's class today so I ran for the hills so I could do the shopping and come home to clean and do the mopping. One day a week my house looks and smells great.....until they get home to destroy it. lol I'd better get to the rest of the laundry and everything else that didn't get done this weekend. Have you ever noticed that it doesn't matter how much laundry you do it never seems to be done??? I did a ton of laundry on Saturday and again yesterday but I still have a lot more to go. Oy!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Bike week starts here at the end of this week so hopefully the weather will stay nice for them. Hope everyone has a great week! </div>Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-55902008137452430182012-02-27T17:42:00.000-05:002012-02-27T17:42:19.210-05:00Life is so much fun!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt6sPPjqHChUCnsE1XMZHS3FJ2z5q9-6MTtG-hZpMh6Vd3ACMobR5V8Dd3AYMSaW7Dbsa65aAow-_rcyKShRLyA9LCuEoZDFCb8xw-ZfkS-NodUqvxio_MJ7Ho-vVKn7D4s7zdwmdvrr8/s1600/Ryan+6th+Birthday+etc+2012+050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt6sPPjqHChUCnsE1XMZHS3FJ2z5q9-6MTtG-hZpMh6Vd3ACMobR5V8Dd3AYMSaW7Dbsa65aAow-_rcyKShRLyA9LCuEoZDFCb8xw-ZfkS-NodUqvxio_MJ7Ho-vVKn7D4s7zdwmdvrr8/s320/Ryan+6th+Birthday+etc+2012+050.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

Still not much stitching here but I did get another five to 10 in last night while waiting for them to postpone the race. lol Maybe, just maybe since the race isn't on until 7:00 p.m. tonight I might be able to get some stitching done then. Then again.....</div><div align="center"><br />

Here is the February TUSAL ORT report photo. Not much stitching to report, in fact, I think I put maybe five stitches in this past month so no new orts in here. I did move my vase so you could see that it is a new picture. lol Those five stitches were put in the Winter part of the Four Seasons Band Sampler from JCS. Maybe I'll get some time to stitch this weekend during the Daytona 500. lolTerryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-29248374023801293212012-01-30T11:42:00.000-05:002012-01-30T11:42:46.735-05:00Fun times with the Cole'sIn case you were wondering, the title of this post is very sarcastic!<br />
<br />
I have had no time or energy for stitching for over a week. I was able to finally relax a little and put a few stitches in my HAED yesterday but not enough for a picture. Life had gotten in the way which I'm sure happens to all of us.<br />
<br />
It's not fun here, or rather, it's not been fun but I think the tide has changed for the better. (PLEASE!!!) My murphy's law days did finally end and I only had one more incident on the day I last posted. Boy am I glad that is over! lol During those crazy clutzy days, I was also dealing with some major behavior problems from my oldest boy Logan. Logan is Autistic and doesn't deal well with any change, let alone anything MAJOR. Back in November, the principal at his school fired the newest ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) teacher and moved her students into different classrooms. Logan's class received three of them. It was chaotic but working in there and was actually starting to smooth out if it's possible to do so with 12 ASD kids in one class. They finally hired a new teacher, had her going around to each class observing and making notes which was a good idea. The problem occurred when they decided on which students she would receive. <br />
<br />
Logan was one of the kids moved into her room. He had been doing so well in his regular room and the move was not good to say the least. His way of letting us know that he wasn't happy was to hit, kick, bite, headbutt, rip or scratch at me. My arms look like I got into a fight with a very large cat or bear. I'm finally starting to heal but it wasn't fun at all. I tried to tell the principal that this move would be a very bad one for Logan but I was ignored. When I asked him to help me escort Logan to the new classroom (which happens to be on the opposite side of the school) he refused and instead asked that someone who was still dealing with car riders stop what they were doing to help me. He has since refused to answer any of my e-mails and has been avoiding me at all costs. This has got to be the most unprofessional behavior I've ever had to deal with when it comes to the school system. Not only has he ignored me, but in the original face-to-face meeting, he lied to me on all counts on why he would need to think it over on not moving Logan. I know he's mad because one of my original e-mails I went to the person in charge of ESE for the county. I did this because I knew he had lied to me and I also knew that this would be the outcome. Apparently, he doesn't like to have his authority at his school questioned. If you can't be flexible in your decisions regarding students or you take it personally when someone questions your decisions, then you really shouldn't be dealing with children. I could care less about the man, the only person I care about in this situation is Logan. He's frustrated and upset and doesn't know how to communicate this so he acts out. <br />
<br />
On top of all that, my daughter decided she'd had enough of the bullying and disrespect from the kids across the street from us and she told them she couldn't play with them. I had actually told her months ago that I didn't want the kids at our house but knew the parents would be nasty about it which is why I never said anything to them. (I just wouldn't let them play with them) Marie took matters into her own hands and that weekend was even worse because of the nastiness from both the parents and the one child. The mother came over because her daughter was in tears and wanted to know what the problem had been. I was able to tell her that she is too nasty with my younger kids but she immediately got on the defensive and walked away before I could point out that the older kids were sick of her crap too. It escalated to where the girl next door became their enemy as well because she still wanted to play with my kids. The mother refused to let the kids from across play with the girl next door. This is the same woman who yelled "Get that kid of my grass! I don't want any of them over here!" to the two year old who got away from the woman who stopped in to speak to me on the same day. Really??? He's friggen' two, get a grip you nasty piece of work.<br />
<br />
The mother next door was pissed off because of what happened. She had warned me a couple of months ago about how the other mother would react. She had the same issues but was friends with her so didn't want to say anything to her. I'm sorry but disrepect and bullying are not tollerated in our house no matter if the kid's mother is a friend or not. I hate this kind of crap, especially when the adults make it worse. I feel sorry for them all, okay, maybe not the parents from across the street but the kids. Perhaps if the parents would teach them to respect other people then none of this would be happening. Also, let's get real here. No kid is perfect, nor is any adult so please be open minded when someone tells you that your kid/kids aren't being very nice. We'd all love to believe that ours are perfect little angels but in real life...... I know how my kids are and I'm the first person to reprimand them if I feel they've disrespected someone. I'm also the mother who asks how her kids were when they go over to their house just so I can be sure they are behaving. Some people call me anal but I'm just making sure they treat others as I wish to be treated. <br />
<br />
Okay, I've gone on enough about the craziness and really need to get to cleaning. Yuck! I really do hate cleaning especially after a long weekend but as my mother used to say "the house isn't going to clean itself!" I'm off to do laundry, pick up the playroom, vacuum and mop. Hope you all have a wonderful week and have time for lots of stitching!Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-59062740679367355612012-01-30T10:55:00.000-05:002012-01-30T10:55:15.990-05:00TUSAL<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9PNRUyJFtCeGxzX_yQ2MWWVd6sc8n3MtUSU3simeaRTUptRQ38d0PH0Igc2OEvt78am4hC4LHwZGgb619zd-hewaZNBLjZRfM63nR3LxqGLrwiBXFrfC0KYyORczfjI9wudv4Uy4Ebec/s1600/Christmas+etc+115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9PNRUyJFtCeGxzX_yQ2MWWVd6sc8n3MtUSU3simeaRTUptRQ38d0PH0Igc2OEvt78am4hC4LHwZGgb619zd-hewaZNBLjZRfM63nR3LxqGLrwiBXFrfC0KYyORczfjI9wudv4Uy4Ebec/s320/Christmas+etc+115.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I've finally got the picture for the first TUSAL post of 2012. Not much to show as I hadn't done much stitching. I hope to have a lot more added to this by the next post for 2012. Sorry about the delay; finally uploaded the pictures from the camera today and of course, I had to watch the Christmas videos before I could do anything else. lol</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I hope to be back with a post about what I've been up to and dealing with for the past week. It's been fun.....NOT!</div>Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-45100893576760001782012-01-24T13:25:00.000-05:002012-01-24T13:25:23.802-05:00It's that time!It's time for the first TUSAL report for 2012. Of course, you can't take a picture if the batteries in your camera ARE TOTALLY DEAD! I found my beautiful vase hidden behind the Christmas decorations and was so tickled to find it again. I excitedly grabbed my camera, turned it on, and immediately got the red light and it shut back off. Crap! How could I have forgotten that I ran the batteries down on ALL the cameras on Christmas day???<br />
<br />
Anyway, back to the TUSAL. It stands for Totally Useless Stitch-a-long. It's where you just keep your ORT's in a pretty glass container and post a picture and a little wordy post about it each month on the full moon. Now this is a SAL I can do.....if I remember to charge the stupid camera batteries!! Go see <a href="http://itsdaffycat.blogspot.com/2011/11/totally-useless-stitch-long.html">Daffycat</a> to sign up!<br />
<br />
You're still here???? Okay, here's a little something to make you laugh. This weekend through this morning I've had the worst of luck. Saturday I dropped a glass jar of spaghetti sauce on the floor and somehow the sauce went one way and the glass went the other. Yeah, I have no idea either and at that particular point in time I really didn't care about the why, just the "how in the HELL am I going to clean this up without stepping on any glass???" Sunday, taking down the Christmas tree and decorations I found two missing DVD's that my son had been pitching a major fit about in the tree. It's almost like he was trying to help me decorate it. I also found several ornaments just thrown in the tree. Me thinks the boy wanted to play with them but then put them back wherever he thought they may look good. Taking the lights off the tree with help from DH was an amusing time as well. At one point he asked me if I had been drunk when I put them on. Uh NO, but you try to put the lights on while your four kids are wanting to help you do everying all at once and see how it turns out!! Last night, Marie helped me get Logan out of the bath. I came in to dry him the rest of the way and realized that she just used a towel that REEKED of urine to dry his hair and upper body. #@*& Apparently, when Katie had her accidents (YES PLURAL) yesterday she used a towel to dry up the floor. It was just thrown over the clothes hamper to dry. I had to get in the shower with Logan in order to get him cleaned back up FROM HIS BATH. Please, tell me you are laughing so hard that you have whatever you drink spraying your computer monitor. It's okay, I'm laughing now too but yesterday......not so much. Today I just put everything in the crockpot at 8:00 a.m for tonight's dinner and walked out the door WITHOUT TURNING IT ON. No biggie, I turned it on high when I got home at noon. It's still early so who KNOWS what else I can <strike>damage</strike> do today.<br />
<br />
I will leave you now that I've given you at least a little giggle for the day. I'm hoping to be able to come back to edit with a picture of my TUSAL but at the rate my luck is running......Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-50000063446551597482012-01-13T12:22:00.000-05:002012-01-13T12:22:43.751-05:00Blogger hates me today!I've tried to leave a comment on a blog and it just throws me to a blank page. Drat! I really want to throw my name in the hat for the giveaway but even more I want to ask Heather at <a href="http://heathersstitchingstory.blogspot.com/">Heather's Stitching Story</a> how she gridded her fabric for her HAED's Fireside Fairytales!! I'm more than half way done gridding my very first HAED but it has given me fits. I found a couple of different blogs/sites that show different ways to grid but I didn't see Heather's until AFTER I started gridding mine. Ain't that the way life goes?? lol <br />
<br />
I still need to get my Christmas tree and decorations put away. At that point I should be able to find my vase that I'm using for the TUSAL. I need to get it done this weekend as I believe next week is the first posting for 2012! I had it picked out before Christmas in hopes that I could join but put it on the shelf behind where I set up the tree every year. I can't see it which means I hid it from the kids. I know it's back there but..... lol<br />
<br />
I still haven't taken pictures of my stitching but I've also not done any unless you count gridding my HAED. lol <a href="http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_212&products_id=3413">Here</a> is what I purchased and am itching to start!! I'm not crazy enough to start it without gridding because, although I love counted cross stitch, it seems I can't COUNT! lol At least not on any of my bigger projects. ;)<br />
<br />
I'd better get off here, my homemade lentl soup is almost warmed up on the stove and I'm hungry and cold. lol Hope everyone has a wonderful three day weekend (and to those who don't get Monday off have a wonderful weekend!)Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-27959983978375617132011-12-31T11:16:00.000-05:002011-12-31T11:16:23.459-05:00Happy New Year....almost!I can't believe how the time has flown by this year! It seems the end of the year flies by and yet drags at times too. lol I think when the stores start bringing out the Christmas decorations out before Halloween or at the same time, it makes Christmas seem like it lasts forever! <br />
<br />
The kids all got sick during the last two weeks of school before Christmas break and of course shared with me. It finally just settled in my sinuses and I had a nice sinus infection going on but I think I've finally kicked that bugger out. Not very enjoyable and no time spent with the extended family because of the fevers but we will get together within the week and have a "late Christmas celebration". Kids should love that as they'll get to open more presents. lol<br />
<br />
I've been doing lots of stitching but have no pictures at this time. Hopefully later I can edit this post with a pic or two for you. Sadly, I have done no Christmas ornaments. I guess I wasn't that taken with the JCS Ornament issue this year and that has got to be a first! I usually see about 20 or more that I JUST HAVE TO STITCH! lol Maybe in July I'll pick it up again and see something I like.....then again...<br />
<br />
I did purchase my first HAED recently and have been puttering around getting all the supplies. I happen to have a piece of fabric the right size in my stash so will be able to start gridding that soon. I'm still not exactly sure what to use for the gridding. Seems like everyone loves either using a floss not used in your stitching or nylon thread. I'll figure that out soon I'm sure. I have all but two colors of floss. Our Michael's has been letting their floss slowly empty out and so has the one 30 miles away. DH tried to go to Joann's while down that way but the check out line was wrapped around the back of the store so I told him to just forget it. I'm sure he would have stood in the line for 30 or 40 minutes but I couldn't put him through that torture. lol I will grid out the pattern according to their directions and start this new year. I can't wait to start this one, especially with the grid to help. If all goes well, then I will start my Thomas Kinkade piece over after gridding it as well. lol Still have to finish my JCS sampler, which I've loved doing. I made a slight error in judgment and need to rearrange things so no pic until it is complete. Ok, maybe a picture of the first part or two but then nothing until it's completed. lol<br />
<br />
I hope everyone has a lovely and safe New Year's Eve. We will be staying home and enjoying watching the ball drop on the televison. I'm sure the kids will all still be awake for it as we didn't roll out of bed until 10:00 this morning! MIRACLE! lolTerryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-18845318799265273052011-10-21T11:16:00.000-04:002011-10-21T11:16:46.497-04:00October<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuJl245GfyAtyDC0XBBaj-UC33VT0kZ4USOP5luj_DMhdZRbYiUPpG9qoA1GJFR-jIkeC8ysI9Y4p8bOK2WVPoNuV6AQQus6PbSJSoUbPou6HV8TaKDAzrBNwoNajiWtqfbshiuDpJP_k/s1600/CS_October_2011+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuJl245GfyAtyDC0XBBaj-UC33VT0kZ4USOP5luj_DMhdZRbYiUPpG9qoA1GJFR-jIkeC8ysI9Y4p8bOK2WVPoNuV6AQQus6PbSJSoUbPou6HV8TaKDAzrBNwoNajiWtqfbshiuDpJP_k/s320/CS_October_2011+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Two of the finished Halloween pillows for the kids. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is the finished LHN Snowflakes. I used all DMC colors and I don't remember what kind/color of linen this is as I started this around this time last year. I got irritated with it when I frogged it for the tenth time last year so I put it down. I picked it up again about a week ago and finished stitching the border and really got my MOJO on and didn't do anything else until I finally finished it! Love how it turned out!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The weather is finally cooler now, or is at this point in time. The week started out hot and muggy and today it's only 63 at 11:00 a.m. and a nice northerly breeze is keeping it fall weather. I love this time of year!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was able to start volunteering in Logan's class this week and I have to say I LOVE IT! We weren't sure how he would handle me being there with him but after a tiny hiccup he, for the most part, acted like I wasn't there. Every time I would get up to do something or when it was time to leave he'd say "Mommy sit!" The rest of the time he'd ignore me or so I thought. lol I volunteered on Wednesday and Thursday for a couple of hours each day and I'm going back on Friday of next week. They have Monday and Tuesday off and DH is home on Thursday so it's the next available day. I love doing this! I feel useful again. lol </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Kaitlyn made "A" Honor Roll and is getting the Terrific Kid Award during their awards assembly on Wednesday. I'm so excited for her!! I know, she's only in the first grade but still!!! I was unable to get out of work the one time Marie got A/B Honor Roll way back and I've felt terrible ever since. I told her we'd do our own awards show at home as soon as we get her grades. I have the Hallmark Card Studio software on my computer and can make all sorts of awards, cards and other great projects. It's going to be fun!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Today is catch up day with all the cleaning, laundry and errand running. I also plan to sit down and get a little stitching done on my B is for Boy from the JCS magazine. I finished the G is for Girl a while back and had to wait to get some blue fabric and then I ran out of floss. lol I think my MOJO is back for a while this time. It's funny, when I lose my stitching MOJO I also lose my interest in reading at the same time. Weird!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Off to do the vacuuming and laundry. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and is enjoying the nice autumn weather!</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div>Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-31952053511011572602011-09-28T11:00:00.001-04:002011-09-28T11:01:46.290-04:00Pictures!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMkvLn3GCshQooa2xqoytjcMUxQKMGQGoINmJWY6ZhcYLfDVB6sUH7TswOKCuYMD-4fgjr5BnILvRaO6rmCkACpnWFN3Ju1E9z3Eeez_bRE9MdGsy49uiSs0OZA_w72EqDzbGJ3F5meGA/s1600/September_2011+042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMkvLn3GCshQooa2xqoytjcMUxQKMGQGoINmJWY6ZhcYLfDVB6sUH7TswOKCuYMD-4fgjr5BnILvRaO6rmCkACpnWFN3Ju1E9z3Eeez_bRE9MdGsy49uiSs0OZA_w72EqDzbGJ3F5meGA/s320/September_2011+042.JPG" width="317" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Witchy Kitty by Brittercup Designs</div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">All of these patterns are from the 2011 Halloween issue of Just Cross Stitch magazine. This is the issue that helped me get my mojo back! I've got to pull threads and then decide if I want to do Halloween Jack on regular fabric or order the perforated paper. Logan is my destroyer, thinking perhaps I should just stitch on cloth so that it survives for more than 5 minutes. lol </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I love the fall; just wish the weather would actually mimic the season it's supposed to right now. Today the forecast is for a high of 90 and no rain chance until after dinner. The only good thing is that I will not have to sit in car rider line today as we have a meeting about Ryan at school. Yeah! As soon as the meeting is over, I'm grabbing the kids and heading home to relax in the a/c. lol</div>Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-20393954830634953682011-09-26T10:36:00.000-04:002011-09-26T10:36:45.226-04:00A Quickie...to let you know I'm still alive and kicking. lol<br />
<br />
Today is my eldest daughter's 13th birthday so in between laundry and cleaning I'm baking a cake and making her favorite snack....Rice Krispie Treats. I am currently waiting on the coffee to cool so I can make the cake so thought I'd drop a line or two for a post. lol<br />
<br />
I've been stitching every chance I had for the past week which feels good. I've completed two Halloween ornaments and am almost done with the third. I decided to make one for each of the kids this year and of course, Logan chose a difficult one which will be done next........ or next year.lol He chose the Halloween Jack by SamSarah Designs. I've never stitched on perforated paper before so not sure when it will get done. No, no pictures to show of them yet as I thought I'd actually finish them before I did the pictures.....hmmmmmm maybe I'll just take pictures sometime tomorrow and upload them as I'll have Marie's BD pics too. lol<br />
<br />
Well, washer is done so now it's time to change over...again. lol Have I ever mentioned that I LOATHE doing laundry??? lol yeah, that and cleaning. ROFLMBO! At least I have a couple of fun things to look forward to today. Baking and wrapping of the presents!<br />
<br />
Have a great week and hope to post some pics in the very near future. :)Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-44000089087633589272011-09-14T10:16:00.001-04:002011-09-14T10:18:19.160-04:00SeptemberI was somewhat on a roll there for about 2 seconds with my blog posts. I'm still doing better than I had been but I will try to improve a little more. lol<br />
<br />
I actually have done a little bit of stitching but have no pictures to show as it's been VERY LITTLE stitching. The fact that I got over that mojo slump at all makes me feel good even if I don't do a lot. I am currently stitching Witchy Kitty by Brittercup Designs out of the Halloween JCS edition. I also finally received the Christmas Ornament issue and have been drooling over it for the past few days. I'd say that is a good thing and must mean the mojo is back!<br />
<br />
Kids are all doing great at school or so they tell me. I will know for sure as soon as I sign up for the online grade review that the district has or get their interim reports whichever happens first. ;) I need to actually go into the school to sign up and by the time I get there in the afternoon it's too late and the morning drop off is crazy. So why don't I just do it while I'm volunteering you ask??? Well, that's easy.....because they haven't let me volunteer yet. They started out trying to get to know Logan and then see how he does each day, then the teacher took time off to go to her daughter's wedding. After that the kids got sick and shared with me and then I had my allergies freak out. Hopefully by next week we can start with the one day a week to see how it goes. <br />
<br />
Yesterday I had a little scare. Now I can laugh at myself but at the time I was a bit terrified. lol I dropped the kids off, ran by Marie's school to drop off some glass baby food jars for science class then went to do some grocery and other shopping. I got home with my coffee and sat down to relax at the computer. I got on facebook and was trying to type something to a friend and realized my eyes were acting strange. Rather, one eye was at least. I had a blind spot that slowly transformed into a pulsing shape. While slightly blind in one eye I freaked out a little, called my mom and tried to answer my husband's instant messages. By the time the pulsing started I finally realized what the problem was and jumped up to grab some tylenol. It's been so long since I had a migrane give me a warning that I didn't realize what it was at all. lol Seems like for the last couple of years, those buggers just come out of left field and knock me on my butt with no warning and tons of pain. Yesterday, it decided it felt sorry for me and gave me a warning. Brainiac that I am, it took for the pulsing and pain to start before my brain would turn itself on. lol I'm VERY lucky that the tylenol did the trick. Usually I have to take a prescription pain med that makes me loopy and I HATE to take that and won't unless I'm home for the day and DH is close to or at home. NOTE TO SELF: spotty blindness in one eye means grab the tylenol and drink a bottle of water. Don't think about it.....JUST DO IT!<br />
<br />
I need to get the house picked up and the laundry started....why can't they design a house that will pick up after its own self???? Make the laundry do itself too while I'm dreaming big. lol I hope to have some time to sit down and put a few more stitches in Witchy Kitty today. It's nice to relax and stitch even if it's only for 30 minutes. Every minute counts!<br />
<br />
Have a great Wednesday!Terryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13363524738097423422noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-649164043329032860.post-2891829517415420992011-08-23T10:30:00.000-04:002011-08-23T10:30:39.606-04:00Don't faint!I am posting again within the same month, heck, almost a week later. lol<br />
<br />
Kids all started school yesterday and it went pretty smoothly. As expected Marie was too nervous to eat much. She did great though as I knew she would. She didn't get to meet any girls her age that live near us but she did get to know a boy in her grade and his sister who is a junior in high school. Yes you got that right. They decided to save some money (ROFLMBO) and combine some middle and high school buses. The problems that I thought would come about from that were not as I thought, but they did find on the stop right after hers that they had underestimated how many kids would be riding. According to the schedule there are two more stops after Marie's but they couldn't get those kids because the bus was overflowing. (I really thought there would be bullying from the high school kids but turns out they were the nice ones it was the eighth graders who did all the bullying) So to solve this in the afternoon, they picked up the middle schoolers and delivered them home then went back to pick up the high school kids. Hmmmm, something tells me that this idea didn't save any money at all. The poor HS kids were standing out in the hot sun for over an hour waiting on the bus to get to their school. I believe today they'll wait inside an a/c building. lol<br />
<br />
Afternoon pickup at the elementary school was jammed up big time and parents were all sorts of upset. Here's the thing, if you expect your kids to do what they're told then perhaps you, as parents should do the same thing. It is told and printed on anything to do with car riders that parents are to stay in their cars at all times. DO NOT GET OUT TO GET YOUR KIDS!! It seems that the massive hold up involved parents getting in the pick up line and then just <strike>abandoning</strike> getting out of their cars and going to get their kids. It took us over a half hour to finally get to the pick up area and we weren't even that far back. I believe I sweated over 10 pounds off yesterday afternoon and might possibly have suffered a little heat stroke. Today, the cooler with water, gatorade and juice will be coming with us and if I see another parent abandon their car to go get their kids I'm going to have to <strike>do a smack down on their butts</strike> give them a piece of my mind!! After all that we had to wait for another minute or two while they located Ryan as he was so quiet (I suspect he fell asleep lol) that when they grabbed Logan and Katie he never budged. 'Course it did have something to do with them not sitting near each other. I believe I've rectified that now though. lol<br />
<br />
My father-in-law decided that he <strike>wasn't crazy</strike> wanted to try to work things out with his wife so he went back home. We spent five days last week on the phone with him and the hospital in a city about eight hours away from where he lives because they got into a fight and he left rather than let it get really bad. I guess he figured it was better there than in our house where he'd have no room of his own and four kids around him most of the time. There is so much more to this story that I just don't even want to go into but I did finally tell my husband that when this happens again that we aren't going to just jump right in with the offer of help without some ground rules. He doesn't even want to speak to either of them but thankfully he's remembering that his dad is 72 years old and his only father so he's still speaking to him at least. Personally, I'm over it all and am thankful he didn't come out. lol<br />
<br />
Still no stitching and not sure when that mojo will find it's way back to me. Maybe after the school routine gets settled. I did get my volunteer ID yesterday so I'm set to start next week. I'm actually excited about going in and staying for most of the day. Hopefully if I am able to help them out like this in a year or two when the economy gets back on track and they can hire again I'll have my foot in the door.<br />
<br />
Have a great week!<br />
